Working under the guidance and expertise of a master perfumer, you'll also enjoy a freshly prepared three tiered afternoon tea that's the perfect way to unwind after exploring your sense of smell extensively! Your destination for this most glamorous of experiences is somewhere equally a bit boujee! St Giles House is a grand grade II listed building in Norwich city centre that is now one of the city's most exclusive boutique hotels. Upon arrival, you'll be greeted with a complimentary glass of something fizzy, and meet with the expert perfume consultant that will be running your session. Once everyone has arrived and been greeted, you'll head off to start your session with an informative and engaging presentation, covering a brief history of perfume, with many illuminating facts about its origins, its uses and cultural significance and how it's taken the journey from where it began to what it is now. Then it's down to the serious business of creating your very own bespoke fragrance, utilising an extensive library of around 20 different scents. You'll learn about and receive guidance on how to harmoniously blend top, middle and base notes to create a perfume that is truly unique to you. You'll both be presented with a gift box of your creation in a 20ml spray bottle sampler to take home. But don't go heading for home just yet - because there's also delights to appease your taste buds as well as your sense of smell, with a scrumptious afternoon tea served on three tier trays, abundant with good sweet and savoury treats to indulge with together as well as freshly brewed tea and coffee to wash it all down!
The perfume making experience is suitable for almost anyone. Under 16s are welcome to participate, but each person under 16 must be accompanied by a voucher-holding adult.

Maximum group size per booking is 12, however, the venue will hold more.
The entire experience will last approximately 1 ½ hours.
- The perfume making workshops generally run one Saturday every other month throughout the year, subject to availability. Workshops normally start at 2.00pm however this is subject to change.
- This experience is perfect for beginners! The session is guided by an expert, so you don’t need any prior experience in perfume making. You don't need to bring anything specific, just your enthusiasm! All materials for perfume making and the tea will be provided.
- Dietary restrictions can usually be accommodated for the afternoon tea. It's best to inform the provider in advance about any specific requirements.
- You will get to take home the unique perfume you create during the session.
There is no dress code for this experience, however you may wish to dress smartly for a luxury afternoon tea.
The weather should not affect your perfume making course and afternoon tea, however if a cancellation occurs your class will be rescheduled for another date.
